Norwegian has revealed traffic figures for December continued to be heavily influenced by lower demand caused by continued travel restrictions across Europe.

The carrier now expects to fly a 26-30 million passengers this year, down from “below 35 million” predicted earlier. The cuts follow newly announced Covid-19 lockdowns in Ireland and the UK.

Amazon has bought its first fleet of aircraft, as the technology giant expands its growing air freight network. The company purchased 11 Boeing 767-300 planes from airlines Delta and WestJet.

The line is extending its pause of operations for all departures until April 30th. This includes trips to Alaska, Mexico, the Pacific Coast, Caribbean and Mediterranean.

Ticket sales for Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore, which had been set to start in March, have been pushed back to July, while other destinations like London have been brought forward from October.

While the procedure has been commonplace in many destinations around the world for months, British authorities have so far proved unwilling to follow suit.
